Amazon finished auto-creating Virtual Multipack listings for eligible FBA ASINs on July 27, 2026. They go live to customers on August 10. Right now you have a review window — edit, keep, or permanently delete — before shoppers ever see them.
A Virtual Multipack (VMP) is a new listing Amazon automatically generates from an existing single-pack FBA ASIN — typically a 2-pack, 3-pack, or 5-pack version of something you already sell as a single unit. Amazon creates it as a variation linked to your original ASIN, using your existing inventory to fulfil orders. No new SKU to physically build, no extra packaging, no separate inbound shipment.
The key distinction from regular multipacks: VMPs are created by Amazon, not by the seller. Previous Amazon policy only allowed manufacturers to create multipacks. The Virtual Multipack programme changes that — but in a way where Amazon is the one making the decision about which ASINs get multipack variations and what pack sizes get created.
VMPs don't announce themselves — they appear quietly in Manage All Inventory. Many sellers discovered them for the first time when unfamiliar ASINs appeared in their accounts during the pilot and assumed something was wrong. Nothing is wrong. Here's exactly where to look.
Amazon's default VMP pricing is straightforward — but for most sellers, it's not the right price to leave live.
Amazon's auto-calculated price (unit price × pack size) gives the buyer no reason to choose the multipack over buying singles. If you want VMPs to actually convert, edit the pricing before August 10 to include a small bulk discount — typically 5–10% is enough to shift buyer behaviour toward the higher-AOV option without meaningfully hurting your per-unit margin.
Before VMPs go live and start competing with your main ASIN for PPC impressions, use SellerSprite to audit your keyword traffic sources. Free 3-day trial, no credit card required.

Virtual Multipacks are variations on your main ASIN — meaning sponsored traffic targeting your keywords can now land on either the single-pack or a multipack variant. For most sellers, this creates three distinct PPC challenges that need to be addressed before August 10 to avoid wasted spend and distorted campaign data.
The simplest immediate action: pull a keyword-level performance report from your Sponsored Products campaigns and note your current ACoS and conversion rates by keyword. This gives you a clean pre-VMP baseline to compare against once the multipacks go live. If ACoS drops significantly after August 10, it's likely because higher-AOV VMP conversions are being attributed to those same keywords — a good thing, but one you need to track intentionally.
If you want to run dedicated PPC campaigns specifically for your VMPs — using the VMP ASIN as the target — you can do so after August 10. This lets you test whether multi-unit buyers respond to different ad creative or targeting strategies than single-pack buyers, and gives you clean attribution data for each pack size.
Once you've found your VMP listings, you have three options. Here's when to choose each one.
Despite the action required, Virtual Multipacks are genuinely good news for most FBA sellers in the right categories. Here's why vendors have had this capability for years and third-party sellers have been requesting it.
